After the tremendous success of Galway Euros 2011, the Literary and Debating Society and Law Society of NUIG are proud to welcome you back to Galway on February 10th and 11th for the 2012 Galway Open. The Open, also known as the Irish National Law Debates, has had a special place in the hearts of Irish debaters since its inception long, long ago in boomtime Ireland. This year, like every year, we're going to make it that little bit better. Plans are still in the making but include:

- five rounds of awesome motions courtesy of our CAs, Sean Butler (6th best speaker at Euros 2011, Euros quarter-finalist, Aberystwyth Open Winner, Irish Times and Mace finalist) and Muireann O'Dwyer (two-time INLD finalist, winner and best speaker Cork Open 2011, UCD Earlsfort Open winner, Irish Mace 2011-12 convenor)

- an excellent judging pool, made up of the best now on the circuit as well as all those old hacks who just keep coming back to us...

- super-effective tabbing from our tabmaster, David Hartery

- team cap of 60, with room for expansion

- all the food and drink you can handle

- 2 amazing socials

- crash available for non-IONA teams plus special supercheap hostel rates for all participants. Limited amount of crash may be available for IONA teams, depending on demand.

As well as this, we're accepting even those of us debaters who have made that step out into the real world but still just can't quite kick the habit. You could even do it with your own mother, if you're into that sort of thing...
